Our 2022 Hotel 2/5 Reunion was held at the Holiday Inn Dayton Fairborn hotel off I-675.
Although the group that attended was smaller this year, we had a great time. Robert caught a foul ball at the baseball game on Friday night that bounced in front of him and landed in his lap. The weather was perfect! He didn’t even have to get out of his seat to catch it. If you’ve never been to the Air Force Museum at Wright AFB, you need to go. There were many hangers full of aircraft that were dated from the Wight brothers, all the way through the history of the Air Force, right up to the present day. It was fun to touch a stealth bomber airplane, sit in a couple of the cockpits and walk through those huge cargo planes.
The hotel, their accommodations, the food, and the fellowship were great. Larry did a Vietnam presentation on “Dodge City” and how that piece of land affected all of us who served in Hotel 2/5. A Vietnam Service medal miniature size was handed out to all members present from H 2/5 along with a beautiful colored “8 1/2 X 11” certificate with each of our names on it.
Thanks to everyone who came.
Semper Fi,
Joe Sonderman and Larry Tyler
